Hello, I’m Veronica

My name is Veronica(Weiyi) Ma. I was born and raised in Shanghai, China, before attending UCSD to pursue a B.S. in Cognitive Science. Currently, I am a first year master student in Information Science at UMich. In my leisure time, I like watching TV shows and documentaries 📺, particularly those in the crime genre. Also, I’m a cat person🐱! My cat Custard is a two-year-old British shorthair. He is a really strong-willed kitten.

Experience

UX Designer & Researcher, University of Michigan

I enhanced the team’s research process by creating an interview tracking document. I mapped out a user journey for public health stakeholders, organized interview needs into an affinity diagram, and collaborated with teams to brainstorm innovative features. 

User Experience Researcher, mpix

I collaborated with Mpix on a course project focused on Needs Assessments and Usability Evaluation. I conducted user experience research, provided design suggestions based on qualitative research, and prepared detailed reports on evaluation results.

Assistant Project Manager, banco

 I improved user experience by developing a word bank for Banco’s online blockchain product. I enhanced the website’s mobility, overhauled 40+ interfaces using Figma, held weekly meetings with the development team, and redesigned the reverse factoring workflow.
